A tourist programme with a transfer to Kizhi.
Within the “Shipbuilding and blacksmith traditions” program one can learn why Zaonezhie inhabitants trusted “kizhanka” boats so much and how craftsmen “sewed” them with a spruce root as well as get acquainted with nuances of blacksmithing such as forging temperature and hearth kindling. In addition to the transfer to Kizhi Island and a guided tour, you will visit the first Russian museum harbor and see different historical boats (beginning from ancient dugouts and ending with famous “kizhankas”) and you will also visit the Kizhi smithy and get acquainted with traditional blacksmith techniques.
The program includes: • Guided tour around the main exposition of the museum • Theme tour to the Kizhi harbor • Visit to the Kizhi smithy • Transfer from the city of Petrozavodsk to Kizhi Island and back by hydrofoil.
